A word with Allan Wilson

Allan Wilson at the Write Lines prize-giving

When Glasgow-based Allan Wilson stepped in for Alan Bissett to award prizes for the Write Lines teenage writing competition, we couldn’t resist having a quick chat with someone tipped to be one of the next big names in Scottish writing

It was a speedy change of plan for Glaswegian writer Allan Wilson, who thought he’d be enjoying his usual Saturday morning game of football, but instead wound up at the Eastgate Theatre in Peebles handing out prizes for winners of the Write Lines teenage writing competition.

Working Perspectives: Claire Blyth and Nomad Beat

Claire Blyth

From June to October, 12 artists from the Crossing Borders collective are taking part in a project called Working Perspectives – a series of mini-residencies that sees artists paired with very different workplaces around Peebles. With a jeweller at a dental practice, artists at an agricultural show and many other unusual combinations, it will be fascinating to see what new works will be inspired by their experiences.
