What happens when artists are let loose in the workplace – a fresh perspective on the familiar, or a spotlight on the overlooked? The innovative Working Perspectives project began with an epic blind date in June last year when 12 artists from Crossing Borders met with 10 businesses in and around Peebles, chose a partner and agreed to spend quality time together for the next eight months. With a ceramicist at a dental practice, artists at an agricultural show and many other unusual combinations, the mini-residencies challenged the artists and encouraged host businesses to see their work through very different eyes. Come and see what the artists made of their visits to Peebles places you thought you knew, or perhaps didn’t know existed.
This intriguing project is the result of a partnership between the Crossing Borders artist collective and Peebles Creative Place 2014.
Update: Working Perspectives has been shortlisted for the annual Arts & Business Awards in the placemaking category.
