Peebles musicians, groups and bands celebrated with a huge day of FREE live music on Saturday 26 July, with pop-up performances inside and outside all over town. The pop ups outside various shops, cafes, hotels and other places throughout the town took place in the morning and were followed by a massed band gig on Tweed Green in the afternoon. More than 100 musicians took part and the concert culminated in the premiere performance of "Airs & Gracenotes" specially written for the event by Alison Cameron. In the evening, the great klezmer trio Celter Schmelter took the Eastgate Theatre by storm. Then, on Sunday 27 July, The Alastair Savage Trio entertained visitors with Scots Fiddle Music Old and New, featuring great tune writers including Neil Gow, as well as contemporary Scottish music with a hint of bluegrass. The weekend was rounded off with an intimate House Party at Jo Powell's Lovely Barn on Sunday evening, featuring brilliant Fair Isle accordionist Inge Thomson.
