Peebles Arts Festival 2014 was a resounding success. Creative Place funding helped bring three intriguing artists over from Peebles' twin town of Hendaye. Mural artist Bruno Aguerre, extreme hair artist Christophe Pavia and photographer Angela Mejias transformed Pennel's Close into a mini French Quarter when they were joined by local musicians and hundreds of visitors who enjoyed fusion food, extraordinary performances and glorious sunshine throughout the day. Peebles Arts Festival celebrates the community we live in and invites locals and visitors alike to join together in an eye opeining week of having fun, being entertained, learning and laughing. It brings together local organisations and individuals that act, sing, play, paint, weave, dance, juggle, recite, march, draw, and otherwise create the town’s vibrant arts community.
Creative Place is working with Peebles Arts Festival to bring a series of exciting and unusual events to the town. The range from "in conversation" evenings with acclaimed writers Jackie Kay and Alan Bissett to a hair sculptor visiting as part of a delegation from Peebles Twin Town Hendaye.
